I want to hook up a track ball to my 60 in 1 board and have a few questions.
1.Which trackball to use(happs 2 1/4")?
2.What type of connector is needed to connect to header on board? The one on the happs looks like wrong type.
3.What wires go to each pin on header?

I used a happ 3 inch on mine. there is a harness on jammaboards under wire&harnesses that is what worked on mine. get the one with connectors on both ends.

i bought a 3" trackball from HAPP and it turns out, it's the wrong one. i think it's a golden tee trackball, so dont get that one. the connector on it is a 6 pin molex with huge male pins and the 60 in 1 has tiny male pins. probably i ordered the wrong one, maybe they sent me the wrong one. probably i can splice in wires to the 60 in 1 but i dont want to fry it.

I have built of couple of the 60 in 1's and I have built my own wiring harness. I have purchased them as well. www.twistedquarter.com (http://www.twistedquarter.com) has them
I believe bob roberts does as well for a better price.
then all you do is plug in the track ball (happ 2 1/4") and plug the other end into your board. The way the molex connector is set up, you can't plug it in wrong.

Bob Roberts also sells the 60-in-1 trackball harness. $11.00 plus $7 shipping

I use 2 1/4" Happ trackball ,same trackball size as Centipede ,only newer trackball will work,do not use the 1980s trackball.Happ's new trackball has red boards.
If you put in upright cabinet, you can use the 2nd player output or buy a harness from Bob Roberts.

definitely use the trackball harness and hook it to the pcb, do not splice player 2 wires, spend the $20

Are you saying the 2-1/4 works or does not work? Also is that the same 2-1/4 Bob sells?

Dave.

Newer trackballs, either 2-1/4" or 3",will work. They must have the red pc boards not the green.I don't know if the ones Bob sells have the red or green boards, you might email him to find out.I used a new happ trackball.
