Here we are, entering the holiday season, which means scrambling for gifts. But even before you’re compelled to suffer on a checkout line so deep you can’t see the front, or prior to starting that spreadsheet to compare the best bargain buys on the internet, you’ve got to figure out what the hell you’re getting — particularly for that special person in your life.
Luckily, former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo has the answer: just get her everything.
OK, not exactly but pay attention fellas, the 25 year-old model is giving up the cheat code for winning the holidays with your partner.
“You can do something like the 12 gifts of Christmas,” she said. “On Christmas Day you have 12 gifts that you put together and you mark every one and it’s really sweet.”
Sure, that sounds expensive, right? But it doesn’t have to be. Like the saying goes, it’s really the thought that counts. “It can be simple or it can be really extravagant,” she said.

Now, if that seems like a lot of work that’s because it is. It’s about the sentiment, she said, while thinking back to a time when she was surprised in a similar fashion. Each gift was tagged with a clue about what was inside. That way each one is a surprise.
And that brought us to another important point about gift giving: if you’re spastic when it comes to wrapping presents, hide it. Tuck a small gift underneath a pillow or under the bed. One year Culpo gifted her mom a bracelet for Christmas and stashed it in the coffee machine. “She was surprised, she really loved it.”
The key, she said, to choosing the best gift is “picking something you would be really, really excited to receive. Like 90 percent of the time, if you stick to that rule, the person will be happy about what you got them.”

Now, that doesn’t mean that this year, you make the day special by gifting your partner the Tom Brady game jersey you always wanted. What’s important is your effort. If you commit yourself to the same level of thoughtfulness — or at least the same amount of thought you’re certain your partner will put in — you’re more likely to win.
“That’s what’s nice because it’s not just about the material thing. It’s about the time and creativity that it took to come up with something that’s just a little different.”
Culpo isn’t just an expert in gifting, the foodie and fashion influencer is known for hosting standout events. And even with all the planning, the guests, the food and the venue, the finer points of hosting the memorable affair are surprisingly similar to purchasing a worthwhile holiday present.
“The big thing is to remember that you don’t need to be perfect,” she said.
In the spirit of good ole holiday cheer, Culpo collaborated with Stella Artois to share this custom holiday cocktail:
